Welcome to Saffron Ceremonies, an independent celebrant based in Cornwall.
A Little About Me...
I feel so privileged to live and work here in beautiful Cornwall and am constantly inspired by the stunning landscape around me. Animals play a huge part in my life, whether they've got paws or hooves(!), and give me the excuse to get out and explore the countryside most days. Our family is very close and includes lots of young children, which means our frequent family get-togethers are usually fun, if not a little chaotic!
As well as being fun-loving and adaptable, I am also reflective and empathetic. I have a background in teaching and pastoral care so I am very used to relating to people in different circumstances. I am compassionate and caring, and have always been interested in the significance of rituals and ceremonies.
How i became a celebrant...
I've always been creative and especially love textiles and cookery. After a successful career in Further Education, I decided to change direction and indulge my creativity in a different way. About Taste was born, my events management and catering company. This involved planning and delivering countless celebrations, including weddings and funerals. Many couples said to me that the registrar- led part of the day was something they simply had to 'get through': I sincerely feel that the celebration of people's love should be positive, meaningful and memorable. Saffron Ceremonies was then a natural progression, creating ceremonies people treasure.
Why i love being a celebrant...
I really am a people person and getting to know and supporting my clients through significant times in their lives is hugely rewarding. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and working alongside them to create really personal, imaginative and memorable ceremonies. Being involved at such important times in people's lives is, to me, an absolute honour and a privilege.
